Hospice help from icenet | July 2007 Following a successful first year based in Harrogate, specialist instalment lending software company icenet has made a £3,000 donation to local charity Martin House Children’s Hospice. Alex Stephen, Chief Executive, icenet commented “We moved to Harrogate in 2005 and have made fantastic progress over the past year including signing our largest contract to date. So, we wanted to take this opportunity to share our success with a local charity, but the choice of very deserving cases is overwhelming! Martin House was suggested to us by long term supporter of the charity John McNamara, North Riding Finance, who are also a customer of ours, so we were delighted to support both organisations at the same time.”
The principal objective of Martin House is to provide care and support, free of charge, to children and young people with a life-limiting condition and their families. Brenda Peel, Corporate Fundraiser at Martin House commented “The hospice costs in the region of £3.5m each year, the majority of which comes from voluntary donations, so we are thrilled to receive this contribution. Specifically, the money from icenet will be used to update the fundraising department computer software and the remainder will buy three ‘care packages’, which provide much needed respite weekend care for families.” print page < back to news | |
